Discipleship and Bible Training Minister (Tier 2)

Location – Manor Park, Newham

Hours – 37.5 per week – Including weekends and some bank holidays

Salary - £25,600 per annum

Revival House wishes to appoint an experienced Discipleship and Bible Training Minister.

This post is key in enabling growth in the ministry and mission of Revival House to make disciples who are transformed by the gospel and living out God’s mission in their lives. We are looking for a Discipleship Pastor who will dedicate his life to pursuing our mission as a key member of a strong and healthy staff.

The Discipleship Pastor will be responsible for creating the curriculum, managing, and executing the aspects of our church that make disciples and encourage Christian maturity. This includes Bible Study Groups, Outreach, Assimilation, Equipping, Assisting Ministry Teams & Committees, and Pastoral Care.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • The successful applicant will be required to have the ability to communicate in both English and Swahili (written and spoken).
  • Experience in Biblical teaching
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Strong administrative, organisational and interpersonal skills. Ensures that all tasks are done correctly, thoroughly, and with precision.
  • Strong technology skills and the ability to learn and work with multiple platforms while considering new digital solutions for ongoing improvement.
  • Be willing to train church Leaders for the building of the body of Christ to grow and mature together.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead our church in a gospel-centred discipleship strategy that is consistent with the values and mission of the church.
  • Develop a comprehensive and systematic adult discipleship pathway so that every member is continually encouraged to go towards greater maturity.
  • Seek to connect with and help new members to find community at Revival House.
  • Encourage members to live out their faith inside the church and outside in the community.
  • Equip the congregation to know and use their spiritual gifts, callings, interests and availability for the different departments and Ministries.
  • Recruit and train teachers for all Bible Study groups.
  • Develop and lead our church in a strategy to engage, love, and minister to our community.
  • Train, equip, and send disciples to effectively share the gospel with our community.
  • Build key relationships with leaders in our community while promoting our church and events to our community.
  • Develop and lead our church in a strategy to help guests feel welcomed, take Next Steps, get connected in Bible Study groups, and engaged in service.
  • Oversee welcome team, guest follow up, new member’s class and new converts’ follow-up and discipleship.
  • Help people discover their spiritual gifting and a place to serve by ensuring they are properly trained to serve the church, share the gospel, and disciple others.

 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

    • 3 years’ experience working in a Pentecostal church setting as a committed worker or volunteer in Discipleship and Bible Training.
    • Diploma or equivalent qualification in theology studies, or ministry related field
    • Must be able to communicate in English & Swahili both in speaking & writing.
    • Fixed Term contract of 3 years, with a probation period of 6 months.
    • Available to start immediately.
    • A full enhanced DBS check will be carried out prior to appointment.

POST: ASSOCIATE CHURCH MINISTER AND THE RISK ASSESSMENT MANAGER.

The Revival House church is looking for an associate minister to join the organisation and provide spiritual support and lead as our risk management officer. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about serving the community and has a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Qualified candidate will be part of the church leadership, who will help to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively to support the church evangelical mission.
  • Become the lead Church projects Manager and Safeguarding Officer.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of church events.
  • Conduct counselling and advice to the members who want christenings, baptisms, funerals arrangements, weddings, and other religious ceremonies.
  • Organise and maintain church records.
  • Organizing church programs, prayers, vigils, and Sunday school classes.
  • Provide assistant and support to the Pastor.
  • Assist in the development of religious education materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with church members and other organizations.
  • Attend meetings and take minutes.
  • Maintain a calendar of church activities.

Minimum requirements:

  • Qualified candidate must be born again, with verse experience in Christian leadership and project management.
  • Ability to lead prayers and organize church services.
  • Ability to write Sunday school manual, and ability to teach Sunday school (adult and children class)
  • Candidate must be able to communicate in English language fluently.
  • Must be conversant with the risk management in identifying, assessing, controlling, financial, legal, strategic and security risks as this is required as part of the organisation safe running.
  • Must be a graduate of higher institution of learning in any subject.

  • To oversee & support the leading of Swahili Learning Club.
  • To regularly communicate with parents, families, and youth ministry leaders regularly and intentionally in other churches, denominations, and non-profits, so that the youth have multiple opportunities to thrive.
  • Encourage spiritual growth of the youth and volunteers.
  • Seek creative methods to keep the youth motivated.
  • To ensure our safeguarding policy is implemented across all our work with youth.
  • To regularly train & support the volunteers of each of the youth groups.
  • To proactively help recruit volunteers and other helpers for our youth groups.
  • To explore ways in we can better serve the youth in our church and community.
  • To support the wider church teams and projects.
  • To support the current staff team in completing additional tasks, including specific support as required by the senior minister.

Revival House wishes to appoint an experienced Connect Groups Leader.

This post is key in enabling growth in the ministry and mission of Revival House amongst the people in the church and our community, and their discipleship.  This is a leadership position and so would encompass taking a lead role in the day-to-day running of the Connect Groups in line with our vision as well as providing effective administration within the church.

The post-holder will be proficient in Christian Education, be able to teach, must have a pastoral heart to care for others with strong interpersonal skills and the heart of a disciple of Jesus Christ.

We are looking to recruit an experienced religious worker - musician to join our expanding team here at Revival House Church. The applicant must be a proficient musician playing drums, percussion, cymbals, and either of the wind instruments such as flute, trumpet or clarinet.
