Location – Southend-on-Sea

Hours – 37.5 per week – Including weekends and some bank holidays

Salary – £24,000 per annum

Purpose of the Role

The Youth Pastor is a senior pastoral ministry position responsible for providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, biblical teaching, discipleship, and mentoring to young people within Revival House Church.

The purpose of the role is to nurture young people in their Christian faith, helping them develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in biblical knowledge, discover their God-given gifts, and become mature disciples and future Christian leaders who positively influence their families, communities, and society.

Due to the continued growth of our youth ministry  and the new branch in Southend , the church requires a full-time Youth Pastor. With a primary responsibility for leading and developing the youth ministry  while working under the overall leadership and direction of the Senior Pastor to ensure consistency in doctrine, pastoral care, safeguarding, and ministry standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

The Youth Pastor will:

  • Provide pastoral leadership, spiritual oversight, and pastoral care to young people within the church.
  • Preach and teach biblical doctrine during youth services, Bible studies, discipleship classes, conferences, retreats, and leadership gatherings.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship programme that supports the spiritual growth and maturity of young people.
  • Mentor, counsel, and provide biblical guidance to young people facing spiritual, personal, educational, family, and social challenges.
  • Lead regular youth worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, and evangelistic events.
  • Encourage young people to develop and exercise their spiritual gifts through ministry involvement and leadership opportunities.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise youth leaders and volunteers to ensure effective pastoral support and ministry delivery.
  • Develop leadership programmes that equip young people to serve within the church and become future Christian leaders.
  • Organise youth conferences, discipleship weekends, outreach events, mission activities, and leadership development programmes.
  • Work closely with parents, families, schools, and church leaders to promote the spiritual, emotional, and personal wellbeing of young people.
  • Support the church’s evangelism strategy by reaching unchurched young people and facilitating their integration into the life of the church.
  • Ensure all youth ministry activities are delivered in accordance with the church’s safeguarding policies, values, and Statement of Faith.
  • Collaborate with other ministry departments, including Family Ministry, Worship Ministry, Discipleship & Training, Evangelism, and Community Outreach, to provide a coordinated pastoral ministry.
  • Participate in regular church services, leadership meetings, prayer gatherings, and ministry planning sessions.
  • Assist the Senior Pastor in the overall pastoral leadership, spiritual development, and continued growth of the church.

  • Exceptional degree of professionalism and the ability to work in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to prioritise and make informed decisions in a religious environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, sound decision making, self-motivated.
  • Equally the post-holder will need confidence and proven organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

  • 3 years’ experience working in a church setting as a committed worker or volunteer in Discipleship and Bible Training.
  • Qualification degree in Biblical Studies or ministry related field
  • Fixed Term contract of 3 years, with a probation period of 6 months.
  • Available to start immediately.
  • A full enhanced DBS check will be carried out prior to appointment.

 

Nature of the Role

This is a full-time pastoral Minister of Religion position.

The role primarily involves preaching and teaching the Christian faith, providing pastoral care, discipling young people, leading prayer and worship, mentoring emerging leaders, supporting evangelistic outreach, and exercising spiritual oversight of the church’s youth ministry.

The  post-holder will work under the authority of the Senior Pastor and will have primary responsibility for the pastoral leadership and spiritual development of the youth ministry.The Youth Pastor will be based at the Manor Park, ensuring that the congregation receive consistent pastoral care, discipleship, and youth ministry leadership in accordance with the vision, doctrine, and ministry objectives of Revival House Church.
